The Heritage Golfing Society is a unique Golf Club based in St Andrews. 

Operating both as a Members Club and as an International Golfing

Fellowship the Society welcomes new Members (men and women)

from around the World.  Many of the members have enjoyed golf

vacations in Scotland & Ireland, which included Membership as

part of their package.  Additionally, their friends, family and work

colleagues have been encouraged to join – giving a truly International

flavour to the ever-growing list of Society Members.

Golf for Beginners

Golf tuition programme 

We are delighted to provide the beginners and their families with a golf tuition programme. 

The programme has been designed around the existing players tee times, so that everyone is basically playing or learning golf at the same time, so you can all have time together outside your golf play.

Our golf programmes will develop your skills from the green to the tee, building your swing from putting to full swing, as well as improving your course play, etiquette and rules.    To us enjoying the game is paramount, so we have fun as well.

Our tuition programmes can be run at the St Andrews Links Golf Practice Centre and supervised play is on the six public golf courses.  The courses range from the Balgove (a nine hole beginners Course) to the Open Championship Course, the Old Course.

Programmes are tailored for individuals depending on their level of expertise, and will be fine tuned in line with the participants’ progress.

The Society’s Golf Tuition programmes aim to

Develop your skills and confidence in playing golf and guide you in managing your expectations of the game.

• Communicating what the game is about its aims, objectives, etiquette, rules and golf terminology

• Improving your game with technique and course management  - building your golf swing from the putting stroke to the full swing

• Helping you develop realistic expectations of your progression in the game

• Developing your confidence by hitting balls in the air, more consistently, right from the beginning

• Developing your understanding of our centered swing method

• Developing your skills on the golf course with rounds of supervised play accompanied by PGA golf professionals
