The main immediate benefit to Members was the opportunity to obtain a full Handicap. The SGU affiliation allows the Society to award golfers a Handicap, after completing Returns from play on the Jubilee Course and other Courses on the Links in St Andrews.
The Handicap evaluation will be carried out in accordance with the Rules laid down by the Congress of National Golf Unions “CONGU”. Members are requested to provide 3 signed cards, currently from Rounds on the St Andrews Links (one of which must be from the Jubilee Course). |

A Handicap Certificate so issued allows the golfer to play in Club or other Competitions throughout the World; this is valid for one year only, but can be renewed or updated at any time – following on further play in St Andrews, although “away scores” (play on a members domestic Course) can be recognised. |
